Issak Ebrahem (Tovino Thomas) is a young man from a Kerala village. He dreams of becoming a filmmaker. Inspired by his childhood hero, Moidukka, a local man with a tragic past, Issak writes a screenplay for a film called Sky of Fireflies. He mortgages his family’s land to fund it, despite their doubts. With help from actor Aravind (Sreenath Bhasi) and cinematographer Sivakumar (Siddique), Issak starts shooting, but money problems and village gossip make it tough. He pushes through, finishing the film with grit and passion. Issak submits Sky of Fireflies for the National Awards on the last day, and it wins Best Picture, while Aravind gets Best Actor. Thrilled, Issak dreams of the Oscars. His friend Prince (Vijayaraghavan), now abroad, arranges a screening, but a fight with a producer, Maria (Anu Sithara), over unpaid dues sours the event. Issak is devastated and learns his film didn’t make the Oscar shortlist. Before leaving, he writes a new script, And The Oscar Goes To..., based on his struggles. Back home, he visits Moidukka, learning that Moidukka’s son Harshad, featured in his film, is still unwell, grounding Issak’s dreams in reality. The story shows Issak’s fight to chase his passion against all odds, blending joy and pain, success and loss, as he learns that filmmaking is about heart, not just awards.
