Thiruda Thirudi is a romantic comedy film starring Dhanush, Chaya Singh, Karunas and Manikka Vinayagam. Vasu (Dhanush) is from a middle-class family and irresponsible at home. He also spends time by teasing girls outside and gets scolded by his father. Unfortunately, his brother goes to jail because of him. Vijji (Chaya Singh) is from a traditional family and wanted to have a good career in life. One day, when Vasu saw Vijji, he follows her on the bike. Vijji who noticed it gets irritated but she did not observe the vehicle ahead. Then she meets with an accident. Immediately, Vasu admits her in the hospital but Vijji think that Vasu is responsible for the accident. As his father always criticizes him, Vasu goes to Chennai to prove himself to him. Vijji also get a job in Chennai and moves to the apartment where Vasu lives. Vasu decides to change his attitude and prove his talent by getting a job. Meanwhile, Vijji falls in love with Vasu after knowing about him. But Vasu pretends like he hates her because he feels that she separated him from his family. So he avoids her for some time but later, he starts interacting with her. In that process, both Vasu and Vijji loves each other. Meanwhile, Vasu gets settled in life and proves himself to Vijji and his family. Vasu faces several problems outside while finding a job. Will Vijji’s family agree for their wedding?
