


Vishwa (Vijay) is a dancer in Sydney who also runs a water delivery business called Ganga with his friend Logu (Santhanam) and his dance group. Vishwa falls in love with Meera (Amala Paul), a restaurant owner's daughter who is one of his water customers. Meera likes Vishwa too and joins his dance team, helping them win a competition. She soon asks Vishwa to marry her, and he says yes. Meera's father (Suresh) agrees to the marriage but wants to talk to Ramadurai about it properly. They go to Mumbai, where Vishwa discovers that his father and his friends are not what they thought they were. Vishwa also finds out that Meera and her father are police officers who used him to arrest certain people. In a mishap, Vishwa’s father (Sathyaraj) dies. Vishwa decides to stay in Mumbai and take over his father's criminal group. He becomes known as Thalaivaa (The Leader) and starts delivering his own kind of justice to the poor and helpless.
