Anantha Rama Sharma (Mammooty), the Sangeeta Samrat, is a proud and somewhat arrogant Carnatic composer and singer. His inflated ego is evident when he turns down the Padma Shri award from the Government of India, claiming that the other recipients don't deserve to be in the same conversation as him. In the same village lives Gangadhar, who goes by Master Manjunath. Gangadhar is not very interested in taking any musical classes. Instead, he likes to stay by the river, which gives him more inspiration to create tunes for his playful songs. Gangadhar dreams of becoming a renowned Carnatic composer and singer, just like Anantha Sharma, and his father, Dharmavarapu, supports his aspirations. When Gangadhar performs "Pranathi Pranathi" at the Tapeswaram Meher Baba's ashram in front of Anantha Sharma, he impresses the seasoned musician. The turning point comes when Anantha Sharma receives a lifetime achievement award at a concert. In a surprising twist, Gangadhar sings "Aanathi Neeyara" in tribute to Anantha, and many believe it surpasses anything Anantha has ever created. The kid is a musical genius, and Anantha Sharma's wife also compliments him. Anantha Sharma feels insecure about Gangadhar's skills, so he invites him to stay in his house to get some experience in music and help him perform well in life. He uses Gangadhar tunes for his shows but usually acts like he doesn't care about the boy's fantastic work. Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamy asks Anantha to sing the compositions he made, and Anantha sings one of the compositions done by Gangadhar, "Shivani Bhavani," without the boy present. However, Gangadhar arrives just in time to witness Anantha performing his work. Anantha's wife discovers a hidden collection of Gangadhar's compositions, making Anantha feel guilty. He justifies his actions by claiming he feared the young talent would overshadow his legacy. You’ll have to watch the movie to find out what happens next!
