Arun (Prabhu) and Hari (Vivek) are good friends who work at a bank. Abhirami (Prathyusha) lives in the building across from Arun and secretly loves him. She often talks to him on the phone and watches his life with affection. One day, after Arun asks her many times, she agrees to meet him and show him she loves him too. On that day, a pickpocket named Shanthi (Roja) steals Abhirami's scooter. Shanthi accidentally meets Arun, who thinks she is Abhirami. Arun even helps her with money when she is tricked by someone. That night, Abhirami called Arun to say sorry for not being able to meet him because her scooter had been stolen. Arun gets angry, accuses her of lying, and blames her for tricking him into giving money. Abhirami is very sad and comes to Arun's building to show him who she really is. Arun is shocked. He tries to apologize and explain how sorry he is, but she leaves in tears. Meanwhile, Hari falls in love with Sowmiya, a tough woman who is the daughter of a retired military officer. Sowmiya likes Hari because he is normal and open-minded. In order to get a house for rent in his officer's building, Hari makes Arun and Shanthi pretend to be husband and wife. He does this drama to impress Sowmiya's father, who supports inter-caste marriages, too. The rest of the story is told in a fun-filled manner. There are many comedy sequences in the film.
