Shankara (Kaushik Babu) was born in a Brahmin family in Kalady, Kerala. Soon after, his father died. Shankara demonstrated his fantastic power in mastering the four Vedas at eight. He sets out for North India in search of a guru. He then meets his guru, Govinda Bhagavadpaada (Srihari). The guru teaches him skills such as 'Jalastambhana', 'Agnistambhana', 'Vayustambhana' and 'Parakaya Pravesam' (leaving one's soul and entering others).Soon, Shankara decides to preach his Advaita to people fighting among themselves in the name of caste and religion. Shankara teaches a lesson to a man named Kapalika (Suman), who is causing trouble among the people. In another, a Chandal (Nagarjuna) proves to Shankara that everyone is equal before God. During his philosophical journey, Shankara argues with Mandana Mishra (Sai Kumar). Just as Mishra is about to give up, his wife (Kamalini Mukherjee) challenges Shankara by asking him some questions about sex and related matters. Being a monk, he does not answer her questions. Shankara then asks for a break of 15 days. Later, he enters a different body, the body of a king (Sri Ramachandra). Later, he falls in love with the king's wives (Kamna Jethmalani and others) and gets answers to the questions asked by Mishra's wife. Despite being a sage, he performs the rituals of his mother. This irritates the elders of his religion. However, they later regret their action. Eventually, after occupying the 'Sarvajnapeeth' in Kashmir, he attains salvation and disappears into Shiva.
