Sonthakkaran is a revenge saga. Rajadurai or Raja (Arjun) is an honest police officer. He arrests Yuvaraj (Nasser) for killing an old man and raping a woman. Yuvaraj goes to jail. Chalapathi Rao (Radha Ravi), the father of Yuvaraj, plans a trick to take revenge on Raja. He traps him in a false rape case. Eventually, Raja loses his job. When Yuvan comes back from prison, he is ready to take revenge on Raja. What happens between the two is the crux of the story. Nirosha, as Rekha, plays the love interest of Arjun.
