Vasu (Jyothika) and Radhika (Sharbani Mukherjee) are best friends and big pranksters at their college in Chennai. They often break the rules at their hostel, annoying their teachers. They also don't like Geetha, the popular girl in college. Radhika's aunt, Malathi (Lakshmi), wants her to finish her studies so she can take over the family business. To make Radhika more responsible, Malathi tries to arrange a marriage for her. Vasu and Radhika meet Gayathri (Tabu), a strong police officer who used to go to their college. Gayathri talks about how women lose their freedom after marriage. Vasu and Radhika decide to avoid marriage for as long as they can. To stop Malathi from finding more husbands for Radhika, they pretend Radhika has a boyfriend named Ramesh, who lives overseas. But then, a real Ramesh starts calling and writing letters to Radhika, saying he is her boyfriend. To stop this, Vasu and Radhika invite Ramesh to their hostel during a college dance. They plan to trick him into telling the truth. Vasu tells Radhika to bring her aunt's guns for safety. However, before they can talk to him, a mysterious person shoots and kills Ramesh. Afraid they will be blamed, the girls hide the body in an air vent. But the body falls out onto the stage during a performance. Gayathri, who is a special guest at the event, takes charge of the case. After this, the story takes unexpected turns, keeping the viewers glued to their seats.
