Sivaji (Rajinikanth) is a wealthy software engineer. He returns to India from the US. He wants to start a charity to build free hospitals and schools for the poor. Adiseshan (Suman) is a rich businessman who is his rival. To start his charity, Adiseshan makes Sivaji pay bribes to many government people. In order to pay the bribes, Sivaji sells everything he owns. Meanwhile, Sivaji falls in love with Tamizhselvi (Shriya). In the beginning, Tamizhselvi and her family don't like Sivaji, but he soon wins their hearts. However, a fortune teller says that if Sivaji and Tamizhselvi marry, Sivaji will die. Tamizhselvi doesn't want to marry him because she's worried, but Sivaji comforts her, and they decide to get married. Adiseshan tries to ruin Sivaji by getting the government to take him to court. They force Sivaji to admit he paid bribes. The judge says Sivaji is guilty. His foundation is closed. Now poor, Sivaji decides to fight back in his own way. With his uncle's help, Sivaji finds proof that Adiseshan has made a lot of illegal money. Adiseshan sends bad guys to get the proof and the money back, but Sivaji beats them up. Sivaji does the same to other people with illegal money, including the people he bribed. Then, his friends all over the world send money as donations to the Sivaji Foundation, making it legal.
