Policeodu is a gripping action thriller about a former police officer who is forced to confront his violent past to protect his daughter. The story introduces Joseph Kuruvilla (Vijay), a bakery owner living a peaceful life in Kerala with his five-year-old daughter, Niveditha, also known as Nivi. Joseph befriends Nivi's teacher, Annie. Annie has feelings for him. Joseph's life is calm until the day when local goons threaten Nivi's life. This forces Joseph to reveal a hidden, aggressive side. Annie, startled by his intense reaction, begins digging into Joseph's past and discovers that he is, in fact, DCP Vijay Kumar, a fearless police officer from Chennai. The story then flashes back to Vijay Kumar's past in Chennai, where he crosses paths with a ruthless Labour Minister, Vanamaamalai (J. Mahendran). In pursuit of justice, Vijay loses his wife, Mithra (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), and his mother to Vanamaamalai's brutal vengeance. Before her death, Mithra makes Vijay promise to quit the police force and ensure Nivi's safety. For this, Vijay fakes his death and assumes the new identity of Joseph Kuruvilla. However, Vanamaamalai learns that Vijay and Nivi are alive, and he plans an accident to kill Nivi. An enranged Vijay, with Annie's help, rescues Nivi and the other children in her school bus. Following the incident, Vijay returns to Chennai to disassemble Vanamaamalai's empire and avenge his family. The movie is a blend of emotional family drama, intense action sequences, and a compelling narrative of a father's love and a cop's pursuit of justice.
