Three brothers live in Burma. Their younger sister, Kalyani (Sriranjani), lived in India with their father. In 1942, because of the war, only Gunasekaran (Sivaji Ganesan) could travel to India for Kalyani's wedding. He doesn’t arrive on time, and Kalyani gets married without her brothers. Kalyani becomes pregnant, but her husband dies when she gives birth. Her father also dies from shock. Kalyani and her baby become poor. She sells food on the street to make a living. Gunasekaran finally reaches India but is robbed and has no money to survive. He pretends to be crazy to earn money and finds his sister in Madurai. He stays near her without telling her the truth that he is her brother. Kalyani is annoyed by his crazy behaviour. The story has many surprising turns that keep you interested. The actors have done a very good job. Other actors in the movie, like SS Rajendran, Pandari Bai, TK Ramachandran, and VK Ramasamy, have also acted very well. The famous Tamil poet, Kannadasan, appeared briefly in the movie. The scene in the courtroom is still very popular with Tamil people today. Overall, Parasakthi is a movie about the life of the destitute and the importance of justice for everyone. It is a great movie to watch with your family.
