The movie starts with illegal idol trading. Mythreyan (Sarathkumar) is a police officer. He wants to get rich and retire. He loves money so much that he loses his wife. He also gets involved in idol trading. He meets Aadhi (Amitash Pradhan). Aadhi is a young man. While his intention is not to do such illegal work, his situation demands money and hence he is into it. He is in the trade because he had known an art gallery owner. This owner had connections to prominent people in the business. Mythreyan takes control of Aadhi. He agrees to work with Mythreyan. They try to sell an old Buddha idol. It is not easy. Can they succeed? Or will they find a big secret? Many Tamil movies talk about idol trading. Paramporul is different. It has good writing. The story is interesting. It does not have many gang fights or murders. This movie shows the different aspects involved in idol trading and how dangerous it can be. The ending has a big surprise. The characters introduced in the climax make the movie more interesting. Sarathkumar plays a bad police officer. It's nice to see him play this kind of role. Sarathkumar and Amitash act well. Kashmira, who plays an artist and Amitash's girlfriend, also does a good job. Paramporul is an interesting movie about idol trade and the risks involved. It's different from other movies. It's definitely a good movie to watch.
