Chinnayya (Sarathkumar) works for an old, respected landlord called Ayya (Vijayakumar). Ayya treats Chinnayya like his own son, and Chinnayya respects and loves him. Ayya hates his oldest daughter, Gowri (Sithara), and her husband, Perusu (Mansoor Ali Khan), for reasons no one knows. Years ago, he gave Gowri a lot of money and cut her off. Ayya's younger daughter, Prabhavathy (Simran), comes back to the village after studying in America. She falls in love with Chinnayya, but he doesn't feel the same way at first because he thinks it would betray Ayya's trust. But eventually, Chinnayya also falls in love with Prabhavathy. One day, Prabhavathy suddenly accuses Chinnayya of trying to molest her. Ayya gets angry, slaps Chinnayya, and kicks him out. At this time, Chinnayya's father, Muthaiya (Sarathkumar), gets out of jail after 14 years and comes to see Ayya. Muthaiya used to work for Ayya and was trusted. But Prabhavathy gets angry seeing Muthaiya and tells him to leave because he was jailed for killing Ayya's wife, Lakshmi (Sujatha). To know the interesting twists in the later part, watch the film. Sarathkumar plays a dual role as father and son. Manorama plays Chinnaya’s grandmother, and she excels in this role. The other artists are Senthil, R Sundarrjan, Ranjith, Manobala, and Pallavi. Everyone does a decent job. The songs are good. Overall, Natpukkaga is a wholesome family entertainer.
