Nandhan is set in a village in Tamil Nadu where only one social class has always been in charge. Ambedkumar (played by M Sasikumar), a worker, is very loyal to the village leader, Kopulingam (played by Balaji Sakthivel). He stays faithful even when he is treated poorly. When new rules about giving opportunities to lower social classes force Kopulingam to give up his position to someone from a different caste, problems begin. Kopulingam and his social class are angry about losing their power. Kopulingam quickly looks for someone loyal to take over. The story is a serious one. Kopulingam chooses Ambedkumar, thinking he will remain loyal. However, over time, Ambedkumar changes his mind. This change in him feels sudden. He usually does what others tell him, including his wife Selvi (played by Suruthi Periyasamy). There are some violent scenes, such as someone lying injured on the road or being beaten while naked. M Sasikumar and Suruthi Periyasamy have done their best to support their characters. Balaji Sakthivel is excellent as Kopulingam, who believes in the caste system. Samuthirakani appears in a small role but makes a strong impression. All the other actors have performed well. The film talks about a serious issue. It is engaging in some parts. Overall, Nandhan is a decent watch for your family.
