in the film mukhachitram - Raj is a renowned and smart plastic surgeon. He marries a beautiful and innocent village girl Mahati, who lives with her father and tutors children. Maya is Raj’s childhood friend and she is in love with him. She is upset that Raj married someone else. She writes romantic blogs and one day, Maya meets with a car accident. Mahati donates blood to Maya even though she is pregnant, which leads to her death. Shattered Raj performs plastic surgery on the deformed Maya’s face and gives her Mahati's face. Later, Maya marries him. They convince Mahati's family that she is alive by showing Maya. Maya being an orphan always wanted a family of her own and she easily bonds with them. Once when Raj goes out of town for work, Maya finds Mahati's phone and listens to her recordings. Then, she finds that Raj has killed Mahati. She does some digging and finds that Raj is a rapist, who usually forces himself on Mahati. When she tried to fight back, he killed her and made it look like an accident. Enraged by this revelation, Maya decides to get justice for Mahati. When Raj returns home, she provokes him to attack her and secretly records it. Later, she beats him so badly that his jaw is injured, leaving him mute. With the help of lawyer Vishwamitra, she files a case against him in court. Raj is arrested and they win the case as it proves that marital rape is rampant not only in India but also in other countries.
