" Mr Karthik" is the story of an introverted boy, Karthik Swaminathan, referred to as 'Genius' by his friends. He is a freelance photographer. He desired to become a wildlife photographer, just like Madhesh Krishnasamy. Sunder, Ramesh, Shankar, Padmini and Vindhya are friends of Karthik. They all are very supportive towards him, and after the death of his parents, even his sister supposed him. Sunder introduced his girlfriend, Yamini, on a fine day, to Karthik. Their first meeting was unpleasant, but later, a special bond developed between them as time passed. He didn't want to hurt his friends, so he tried to maintain distance from Yamini. However, due to consecutive events, they have become closer. Sunder's father eventually agrees to Karthik's and Yamini's marriage. After their wedding, Karthik learned that Madhesh had used the photo he had taken to win the national award. After getting betrayed by his friends, he was distracted and turned into an alcoholic. People even started to doubt his mental health. Yamini supported him a lot, hoping that he would succeed one day. There were even other people who betrayed him behind his back, which pissed off Yamini, and she stood by his side. After seeing Madhesh winning an award for his photo on TV, he accidentally broke the TV and pushed Yamini. Due to this, she had a miscarriage.
