





Mehbooba is a romantic drama film which deals with the love story of a young boy nad girl, two cultures and two countries. Roshan, an aspiring citizen from Hyderabad, wants to join the Indian army. His friends and mother support him in pursuing his dream, but his dad is against it. Afreen, a student from Pakistan, joins JNTU through a student exchange program. She belongs to a traditional Muslim family from Lahore. Her father is against her education but accepts it on one condition: that she will get married to a boy of his choice, to which Afreen agrees. Afreen and Roshan have one thing in common: both have a recurring dream of being killed that ends with the song “Lag ja gale” from Woh kaun thi, a Hindi film. However, they don’t get to meet in college as Roshan graduates, and that’s the first day of Afreen. Once, when she was returning from a party, she was abducted by a women trafficking gang, and Roshan rescued her. She tried to find him and thank him but couldn’t see him. Nadir Harasses Afreen tells her mom that she doesn’t want to get married. Due to a prestige issue, she calls Afreen and lies about her father being unwell. Afreen, on her way home, meets Roshan on a train, where he will take his military exam and trek to the Himalayas. She felt a strange connection and learned that he had saved him, so she thanked him for saving her. In the Himalayas, he found a dead body with a diary that had a picture of a girl who looked like Afreen; on reading the entire diary, he found out that it was their rebirth to regain their love. At the same time, he got a call from Afreen, who explained her situation, and he also got news that he had cleared his army exam. Immediately, Roshan rushed to Lahore…What happened next?
