In the movie Maharshi, Rishi Kumar is the new CEO of Origin in the USA. He brings his mother from India to live with him. A surprise party organized by his colleague Nidhi reminds Rishi of his difficult past in Hyderabad. He grows up in a middle-class family and has a tough relationship with his father due to money problems. While studying at IIET in Vizag, Rishi becomes good friends with Ravi and Pooja, even though classmate Ajay fells jealous of them. Rishi does well in his studies, while Ravi has a harder time. Their friendship falls apart after Rishi breaks up with Pooja to focus on his career. Rishi's life changes dramatically when he is falsely accused of cheating, which has a major impact on his future. Rishi moves to California and reaches the highs in his job. It is then, Rishi learns that his father has died. This loss makes him think about missed talks and unresolved issues. He is shocked to find out that Ravi was expelled for defending him during a cheating scandal. Feeling guilty, Rishi goes back to India, where he finds Ravi protesting against a controversial pipeline project. Rishi identifies the main problem in this issue is the businessman Vivek Mittal and he can be the solution to Ravi's problem. He approaches Vivek Mittal and seeks his help, but faces resistance. Things get more complicated when Pooja arrives, sharing her lingering heartbreak. With media attention growing on Ravi’s activism, will Rishi be able to fix relationships and save their village? What sacrifices will he need to make?
