Simbhu plays the role of Gurumoorthy, fondly called by his near and dear as Guru. Guru hails from a middle class family and he is very much jolly get going and affectionate young man. His mother and father are the typical Indian parents. His father is very strict. There is also another character of a naughty and mischievous man Senthil, who is the brother of Guru’s mother. Senthil also is a member of guru’s family. Guru gets admitted into an Arts and Sciences College. He comes across a beautiful girl Anjail, who is also a student of the same college. He falls in love with her at the very first sight. But as usual, Anjali doesn’t like Guru at the start. Anjali hails from a very rich family. Anjali’s father is Veerabahu, a very powerful and wealthy man in the society. Added, he is a gangster and cares very much about his daughter Anjali. He is so possessive about his daughter, that he gets a young man beaten up bad just for touching Anjali in a queue line at the temple. Amidst an unexpected incident, Veerabahu’s men mistake guru for Anjali’s lover and they beat Guru very badly. After getting beaten for a misconception, Guru decides and challenges to make this true and make Anjali fall in his love. After a series of trials and incidents, Anjali also starts loving Guru. Veerabahu gets furious about his daughter Anjali falling in love with a middle class guy. He tries in various ways to separate them both. What happens next is the story of ‘Kuththu’.
