Shiva (Vijay) and Jenny (Jyothika) attend the same college in Chennai but are in different classes. They become friends at a temple. Shiva's friend Babu loves Jenny's friend Shanthi, and Shiva and Jenny help them get together. But one day, Jenny sees Shiva looking at her in a way she doesn’t like, and they argue and stop being friends. Even though they try to avoid each other, they must work together to help Babu and Shanthi. Later, they realise they love each other but don’t say it. Shiva pretends to like another girl to make Jenny jealous. The whole plot is about the emotions between Shiva and Jenny. They keep fighting with each other for lame reasons. Both of them are too egotistic to express their love for each other. They know they love each other, but they constantly expect the other person to propose the love. Due to their ego, their bond gets weaker. In one instance, Jenny's dad (Vijayakumar) meets Shiva on the road. He helps him in a strange situation. Later, Jenny's dad learns that they are in love. What happens in the end? How do they get to confess their love for each other? The answers to these questions are told in an interesting screenplay.
