Khakee is a gritty and realistic 2017 action-crime thriller film based on true events. It is the story of Dheeraj (played by Karthi), a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) who, due to his commitment to justice, is often transferred from one posting to another. In his personal life, he marries Priya (Rakul Preet Singh), a lovely rural belle, after falling in love with her while he is a police trainee. But when he is given a high-stakes case to investigate a string of vicious home invasions and killings that are rife throughout Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, his professional calling quickly takes precedence. The dacoits, led by Oma (Abhimanyu Singh), perform terrible activities and leave no witnesses. In order to maintain secrecy, they frequently target remote residences at night and carry out horrifying acts of brutality. As soon as Dheeraj recognizes the enormous task that lies ahead, he and his devoted crew set out on a pan-Indian inquiry that takes them from the arid Rajasthani plains to the isolated Uttar Pradeshi villages. The plot takes a thrilling turn in the second half, unveiling an entertaining pursuit action emphasizing the police force's expertise. The harsh realities of police job are highlighted by the strong opposition Dheeraj and his crew face. However, the cops put an end to their reign of terror, so the ending is pleasant.
