Indian is about a veteran who has served in the Indian army. The movie is about how he teaches corrupt officers, politicians, and business people a lesson. Senapathy (Kamal Hassan) plays the role of a veteran. His son (Chandru) works at the Tamil Nadu RTO. Unlike his dad, he is corrupt. Along with his friend (Goundamani) in the same office, he issues a license to the public only after accepting a bribe. He wants to leave behind his middle-class life and become a rich man soon so that he can marry his rich girlfriend (Manisha Koirala). On a parallel track, Chandru's friend Sapna (Urmila Matondkar) is after him. She bribes him for a favour. As the story moves along this line, there are sudden murders in the city. When the police investigate, they discover that Senapathy is behind these crimes. Every person who is murdered is heavily corrupt. Senapathy's flashback is interesting and carries the reason for his activities. Senapathy was living a happy life with his wife (Suganya), daughter (Kasthuri), and son (Chandru). A faulty gas cylinder leads to a fire accident, and his daughter dies. Government hospital employees refuse to do procedures properly and without money. Senapathy has a strong principle that he will never offer bribes in any circumstance. So, he faces a lot of troubles at that time. He decides to eradicate bribery in society, targets some people and murders them. At one point, he finds out that Chandru is also heavily corrupt. To know if he punishes his son, too, watch the film.
