Gurkha tells the story of how Babu (Yogi Babu) rescues the people held captive by terrorists inside a shopping centre. Yogi Babu is the main character, playing a Gurkha. The film starts by explaining how Gurkhas came to Tamil Nadu and the problems they face, like being treated unfairly because of their race. From the beginning, the movie makes fun of almost every person or job that appears in it. A Gurkha, a security guard, someone from the media, a politician, a police officer, and even the US Ambassador are all made fun of. The bad guy, played by Raj Bharath, takes over a cinema inside the shopping centre and says he will kill the hostages if the government doesn't give him money. The police say he is a dangerous terrorist, but all he does is threaten the police outside the mall to transfer money to a specific bank account. The rest of the story is about whether Yogi Babu, who accidentally gets trapped inside the mall with Charlie and his dog, manages to save the hostages or not. The movie has some interesting jokes and scenes. The actors have done a good job. Overall, Gurkha is a decent watch for a family.
