Gummalam tells the story of four mates and how their friendship changes when a girl comes into their lives. Four friends live together in a house. A girl named Rathi comes to visit the house next door. All four of them start to fall in love with Rathi. However, Rathi is particularly friendly with Mithun, one of the four lads. She accepts presents from him. When the other three friends see this, they get annoyed. They confront Rathi and ask her about it. But she explains to them that she sees them all as just friends. One day, a police officer arrives in their neighbourhood to arrest Rathi. It's then that they find out who she really is and what her past is like. There's a flashback to a refugee camp that is quite powerful and keeps the audience interested. There are some funny bits in the film, and also some emotional moments. The main actors are Mithun Tejaswi, Ganesh, Rathi, and Vineetha. They act well. The other actors include Adithya, Kazan Khan, Kaka Radhakrishnan, Ponnambalam, Vasu Vikram, Murali Mohan, Typist Gopu, and Kavitha. They have all played their roles properly. Overall, Gummalam is a decent film with some amusing parts.
