This movie is about five close friends in their last year of engineering in Chennai: Ilango (Krishna), Prabhu (Prasanna), Sundar (Karthick), Priya (Sandhya), and Indra (Mangai). They are very popular in college. They are such good friends that when one doesn't get a job, the other four refuse to join the company. Finally, all five got jobs together and were very happy. But then, something sad happens. Ilango's father, a powerful man from his village, comes to Chennai and takes Ilango back home. Ilango's father makes him marry his cousin Easwari (Kanika). Ilango is heartbroken. He returns to Chennai and leaves his friends to work in another city. His friends are sad, and Ilango is unsure if he should tell them about his marriage. Six years later, the girls are married. The other boys are looking for partners, except for Ilango, who lives in Switzerland with someone from another country. Prabhu meets Kanika on a train and likes her. But he is very sad when he learns that Kanika is Ilango's wife. Kanika is determined to wait for Ilango to come back. Prabhu's friends tell him to find Ilango. This part of the story is slow. When they find Ilango in Switzerland, Prabhu returns to India. After feelings about the village, Kanika joins the group of friends, but something sad happens. You have to watch the movie to find out what. Kanika's character is interesting. Krishna and Prasanna act well, and so does Karthick. Sandhya and Mangai are right for their roles. Vijayan, as Ilango's father, and the rest of the actors do their part. The songs look nice because of how they are filmed. The camera work is good. Overall, Five Star is a good entertainer.
