




Draupathi is a Tamil-language action-drama film that tells the story of Prabhakaran, a teacher of a small school in a village who murders his own wife, Draupathi in the name of shame-killing. Prabhakaran goes to jail and when he gets out on bail a few months later, he shifts to Chennai and pretends to be a tea-seller. After some time, he starts killing multiple people due to unknown reasons that are revealed later. A journalist opts to make a short film on Prabhakaran and his dead wife, Draupathi but struggles to understand the real reason behind Prabhakaran’s killings. The first half of the movie has a thrilling and engaging tone but the second half has more of a dramatic tone. What keeps the audience invested in the film is the mysterious nature of Prabhakaran and the demise of his wife, Draupathi. At the end of the film, It gradually becomes a courtroom drama and the secrets get unfolded.
