Dev is a 2019 romantic action-adventure film directed by Rajath Ravishankar. The film is about Dev Ramalingam (Karthi), a carefree young man born in a wealthy family. Dev loves to travel and spends his time doing so. He is known for climbing mountains and taking risks. He always takes his best friends, Vicky (RJ Vignesh) and Nisha (Amrutha Srinivasan), along. Vicky wants Dev to have a stable love life, and encourages him to befriend Meghna Padmavati (Rakul Preet Singh) online. Meghana, who lives in the USA, owns a startup there. She has major trust issues due to her childhood trauma from her parents’ separation. She comes to India for work and meets Dev in person. At first, Meghna keeps her distance. But Dev’s charming and adventurous personality slowly breaks down her walls. They go on a road trip, share fun and emotional experiences, and eventually fall in love. After some time, Dev’s father asks him to take over their family business. Dev becomes busy, and communication between him and Meghna breaks down. Misunderstandings cause them to split. Later, Dev meets with an accident while preparing for his dream of climbing Mount Everest. Believing he is in danger after an avalanche, everyone starts fearing the worst. Meghna realises she still loves him deeply. Dev survives and returns. They meet again, confess their love, and get back together. It is interesting to see if Dev and Meghna end up together.
