Chinna Thambi (Prabhu) and Periya Thambi (Sathyaraj) are brothers working at a mill near Coimbatore. They live with their grandmother. Even though they fight a lot, they love each other. After 20 years, their mother's younger brother, who is a rich man, visits them. Both brothers like their uncle's daughter, Kavitha (Nadhiya), and try to win her over. But Kavitha's parents refuse because the brothers are not rich or educated. The grandmother kicks Kavitha and her family out of the village and forbids her grandsons from visiting them for personal reasons. Kavitha, who is educated and beautiful, is set to marry a rich man in whose company the brothers work. So, both brothers go to Chennai to work at the wedding. The night before the wedding, Kavitha's parents die in a car accident. On his deathbed, Kavitha's father mentions his debts, and both parents pass away. All of Kavitha's property is sold to pay off the debts, and the wedding is cancelled because she is now poor. The brothers comfort Kavitha and take her back to their village. She starts to like their simple life and lives with her cousins and aunt. What happens next is the rest of the movie. The other actors in the film are Sudha Chandran, Gandhimathi, Vijayan, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Meesai Murugesan. Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi is a good family entertainer.
