Kishore is a Telugu non-resident Indian living in California. He wants to become a movie director when he returns to India. Frustrated with the same old love stories in Telugu films, he looks for new inspiration and meets college professor Apparao Aggarwal. Professor Apparao shares a romantic story about two students, Shyam and Anshu, which inspires Kishore. Shyam and Anshu are friends who start to develop feelings for each other when rumours about their romance begin to spread, fuelled by Apparao's comments. Wanting to help them, Apparao tries several plans to make their relationship happen, but these efforts lead to funny mishaps and embarrassment. On a trip to Cudappah, Shyam meets a bird photographer who teaches him that true beauty comes from within. This helps Shyam realize his love for Anshu. Problems arise when Shyam has to go to Bangalore for work. There, he becomes romantically involved with his attractive boss, Sunaina. When Anshu visits and thinks Shyam has cheated on her, misunderstandings and miscommunication occur. Kishore helps Shyam deal with his feelings.
