The movie tells the story of two strong gangs in Chennai, led by Chinna (played by Prakash Raj) and Periyavar (played by Raghuvaran), who are always fighting each other. One day, a young man named Sekar (played by Vikram) saves Chinna from Periyavar's gang. Chinna is really impressed by how brave Sekar is and feels like they understand each other. Sekar tells Chinna that he has admired him since he was young and joins Chinna's gang. With Sekar's help, Chinna becomes even more powerful than Periyavar. Chinna trusts Sekar a lot, and they become good friends. This makes Shafi, who is also in Chinna's gang, feel jealous because he doesn't like Sekar. Sekar helps Chinna marry Padma, the woman he loves, even though Chinna doesn't want to show his feelings after becoming a powerful gang leader. Sekar also becomes friends with a woman named Shalini (played by Trisha), and they fall in love. A new head of the police wants to stop the violence in the city and starts going after Chinna and Periyavar. The movie then tells what happens next in an interesting way. Vikram gives a great performance in the movie. Prakash Raj and Raghuvaran, as they usually do, make their roles even better. Trisha is lovely in her part. The other actors in the movie, including Ashish Vidyarthi, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, and Thalaivaasal Vijay, all act very well.
