The story of Baby and Baby revolves around two couples who are traveling to meet their families for the first time after becoming parents. Siva (Jai) and his wife Priya (Pragya Nagra) are heading to see Siva’s father Mahalingam (Sathyaraj). Mahalingam is a traditional man who is desperate for a grandson to inherit the family legacy. At the same time, Guna (Yogi Babu) and his wife Malar (Sai Dhanyaa) are on their way to meet Guna’s father, Muthaiya (Ilavarasu). Muthaiya is eager to welcome a granddaughter. The conflict begins at the airport when the two babies wearing identical outfits get swapped during a quarrel. The couples do not realize the mistake until they board their separate flights. When they realize that they are carrying the wrong child, they panic. Matters become worse when they think of their traditional fathers who are curiously waiting for their grandchild to arrive home. The two couples try to manage their respective families. At the same time, they plan to switch the babies back as well. The situation becomes even more complicated with the interference of greedy relatives. There is another character Thookudurai (Rajendran), who comes in with his own hidden motives.
