Aval Appadithan is a romantic drama starring Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth, Sripriya and Saritha. Manju who is a modern woman works in an ad agency. She is a rude-speaking lady who has thoughts against the evil society as she had a troubled past with men. Manju meets Arun (Kamal Hassan), while helping him to make a documentary film. Arun’s friend Tyagu (Rajinikanth) is the boss of Manju at the ad agency. He is arrogant and a money-minded man. Arun asks questions to a group of students about premarital sex and legalising abortion. While working together, Arun understands Manju’s personality and falls in love with her. Then Manju tells him about her unfortunate past relationship that she was molested by her uncle, her first relationship in the college and her second love, Mano who used her to satisfy his needs and left her. These incidents made her a tough-woman attitude towards men. Arun shares this matter with Tyagu. When the office staff and Tyagu comments about her character, she resigns from her job. However, Arun requests Tyagu to get her back to the job. Then Tyagu just laughs and says that she is already back. Actually, Manju is just trying to teach Tyagu a lesson by staying close with him. Tyagu believed that Manju has fallen for him. With that, he thought to take an advantage of her. But she slaps Tyagu for what he has done.
