Annanagar Mudhal Theru is a comedy drama starring Sathyaraj, Ambhika, Radha and Prabhu. Sivaraman (Sathyaraj) who is unemployed young man gets a watchman job in a neighbourhood troubled by robberies. He changes his name as Ramsingh. They feel that only a Hindi-speaking Gurkha could save them from the trouble. He make all the residents believe that he is from North India. He puts a lot of effort to speak Hindi while doing the job. Shivaraman is surprised when the girl named Latha whom he loved in childhood comes to that colony where he works. After seeing the police officer (Jaiganesh) who is the father of his childhood friend, his past comes to hit. Shivaraman and Latha are classmates and fell in love with each other. Unfortunately, Latha breaks up with Shivaraman after misunderstanding him. Seeing her after several years, Shivaraman gets excited but Latha did not react. Ambhika whose husband lives abroad comes to know about the true identity of Shivaraman and treats him with respect. But the other residents do not respect him and treats him just as a watchman. Meanwhile, the residents spread rumours that Ambhika has illegal affair with the watchman. Anand who is a young guy who lives in that colony have his eyes on Latha. Shivarama who observed this beats Anand to a pulp. With this, the residents of the colony turn against him. After a few days, Latha comes to know that Shivaraman is still in love with her. So she decides to patch up with Shivaraman. When Ambhika’s husband returns from abroad, everyone talks bad about Ambhika and Shivaraman. Watch the film to know the rest of the story.
