Devaraj is a bad guy who hires some people to steal a bag from a house. He tells Varadhu, Rathna, Ritchie, and Sethu to do the job. Varadhu just broke up with his girlfriend because she said he wasn't important. He discovers the bag has a lot of money and thinks this is his chance to become rich and prove her wrong. The criminals run away with the bag to a village that is far away. They stay with an old man named Janardhanan, whose family used to own a lot of land and were wealthy. Janardhanan lives with his wife and a young woman named Bala. While they are staying there, Rathna and Bala start liking each other. Ritchie's girlfriend, Arasi, also comes to the village. She causes problems between Ritchie and his friends, and eventually, Ritchie and Arasi break up. What happens in the story after this point is the main part of the movie.
