JB (MG Ramachandran) is a rich businessman who is tired of working. He goes to his guest house in Shimla for a vacation. When he arrives, he finds that his caretaker has rented the house to a family from Bangalore. The family comprises an old couple and their daughter, Geetha (Saroja Devi). The caretaker and his wife leave for a trip after taking the rent money. They leave their daughter, Kannamma (Manorama), and his brother-in-law, Ramaiah (Nagesh), to take care of the house and the guests. JB decides to pretend that he is not JB. He says his name is Balu and that he is JB's secretary. He pays rent to stay in his own house. Ramaiah has never met JB, so he takes the money and gives JB's room to Balu, not knowing they are the same person. Balu plays tricks on Geetha all the time. While playing tricks, he starts loving her. Geetha also starts loving him, but they don't tell each other because of their pride and a few other reasons. When does everyone come to know that Balu is JB? What happens after that? The answers to these questions are told in an interesting screenplay. MGR stuns the viewers with his charismatic personality. Saroja Devi is cute and acts well. The other actors, Nagesh, Manorama, Ashokan, TR Ramachandran, and Muthulakshmi, do a decent job. Nagesh and Manorama take care of the humour sequences in the film. The romance between the lead pair is fascinating. The visuals are stunning. The music is excellent. Overall, Anbe Vaa is an amazing watch.
