This film is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Malayalam film Luca. In Kochi, Luca (Tovino Thomas) is a talented scrap artist. He struggles with anger and necrophobia, rooted in his mother’s death. At the Kochi Biennale, he clashes with Niharika (Ahaana Krishna), a chemistry researcher, over her remarks on his art. Later she apologises to him and they becomes friends. She becomes his paying guest. When they are in the same premises, their bond becomes stronger. Niharika is haunted by childhood abuse. She finds solace in Luca’s affection. Luca is suffering from panic attacks over death. She helps him combat his attacks. They dream of a future, but Luca’s health worsens, hinting at cancer. Meanwhile, police officer Akbar (Nithin George), dealing with a troubled marriage to Fathima (Vinitha Koshy), investigates a mysterious death. Reading Niharika’s diary, Akbar uncovers Luca and Niharika’s story. As their love deepens, Niharika learns Luca’s fear of painful death. She crafts a poison, applying it to her diary, knowing Luca’s habit of licking his fingers to turn pages. She sends it to him from Bangalore, and he reads it, dying peacefully, fulfilling her wish to spare him pain. Niharika takes her own life days later. Akbar, moved by their tragic love, solves the case, realising Niharika’s act was one of love, not murder. Fathima, seeing Akbar’s empathy, tears up a photo of his ex, signalling hope for their marriage. Luca’s friends enter his home, holding the keys he gave them, and cherishing his memory.
