Saraswati (Nivetha Thomas) is a homemaker who never passed her 10th-grade exams. She lives with her husband, Prasad (Vishwadev Rachakonda), who is a bus conductor, and their two sons, Arun and Varun. Arun, who is 11 years old and curious, has a lot of trouble with maths. He always scores zero and is teased by his classmates and his strict teacher, Chanakya, who calls him a ""zero."" Chanakya suggests moving Arun down to Varun's 5th-grade class to help him with maths. Prasad agrees, but Saraswati disagrees, as she believes Arun can do better. The situation gets worse when Chanakya suggests sending Arun's best friend, Pavan, who is the top student in the class, to a boarding school in Nellore. This leaves Arun heartbroken.
