Irul is a Tamil version of a Malayalam movie with the same name. Alex Parayil (Soubin Shahir), who is a writer, and his girlfriend Archana Pillai (Darshana Rajendran), who is a lawyer, go away for the weekend. Alex wants to relax without using phones or the internet during the entire vacation. But one dark and rainy night, their car stops working. It is also raining, and they get frustrated in the dark. After a while, they see a light in a house nearby and go there to ask for help. They meet Unni (played by Fahadh Faasil), a strange man. The movie then focuses on the odd situation, with hints of someone being murdered and a feeling of darkness. The three people ask each other questions, which makes you curious and a little scared. The movie has good actors. Some parts of the story are interesting and keep you watching. The way the movie is filmed looks good and stylish. The narration is such that it keeps the viewers wondering what comes next. Fahadh Faasil is very good, acting in his usual realistic way. Soubin Shahir and Darshana Rajendran also do a great job. Jipa John and Mashar Hamsa have smaller roles in the movie. Overall, Irul is a pretty good mystery thriller that you can watch with your family.
