The Road opens with a road scene where a couple is killed on a highway at night. It looks like an accident. But it is a murder. Meanwhile, Meera (Trisha) and her family, comprising her husband and son, plan a road trip. Before the trip, they have a lot of fun together. Then, the movie starts its actual story. Meera loses her family in a road accident. She learns it was not an accident. With help, she tries to find the killers. At the same time, Maya, a professor, is in trouble.
