The Akaali follows police officer Hamzah as he investigates the Janice Murders. Janice, a girl involved in occult sciences and satanic worship, is suspected of committing these murders. Hamzah tells his inquiry officer how he got involved in the case. He was tracking drug smugglers when he stopped a satanic cult from kidnapping Anita. But Anita is already possessed and acts strangely. Hamzah discovers Anita's problems started after she became friends with Janice. He also learns Janice is linked to several deaths. Why were these people killed? Did Janice do it? If not, who is behind it? What do they want from human sacrifices to Satan? And what does ""Akaali"" mean? The movie answers these questions. The plot is complex and has many details. The way the story is told is also complicated. However, the film does a good job of creating real fear. It avoids cheap jump scares. Instead, it shows how these cults work and who they target. It is a different movie. Jai Kumar, as Hamzah, is excellent. He fits the role perfectly. Swayam Siddha and Nasser also give good performances. Vinoth Kishen's short appearance is effective. The Akaali is for people who enjoy serious, dark horror.
