In Malappuram, Kerala, where football is life, Majeed (Soubin Shahir) is a young, unmarried manager of the local sevens football team MYC Accode. He recruits three talented Nigerian players, including Samuel (Samuel Abiola Robinson). He is nicknamed “Sudani” by locals who mix up his Nigerian roots. Samuel becomes a star scorer, boosting the team’s fame. But during a match, he injures his leg, needing a month’s rest. Unable to afford hospital costs, Majeed brings Samuel to his home, where he lives with his mother, Jameela (Savithri Sreedharan), and gets occasional visits from his stepfather (K.T.C. Abdullah). Samuel, a refugee escaping hardship, becomes a village sensation, drawing curious neighbours like Beeyumma (Sarasa Balussery). As Majeed cares for him, a warm bond grows despite language and cultural gaps. Trouble brews when a newspaper photo of Samuel attracts police seeking his passport, which he reveals is fake, complicating his stay. News of his grandmother’s death in Nigeria pushes Samuel to return home, but the missing passport causes chaos. Majeed and his friends try to help. Jameela is kind to him, even holding a memorial for Samuel’s loss. Does Samuel overcome his hurdles and return to Sudan? What happens in the end? To know the answers, watch Sudani from Nigeria.
