This film is the Telugu-dubbed version of a Kananda movie. In the small town of Melige, Subbanna (Rangayana Raghu), a kind, middle-aged single man, runs a vegetarian restaurant. He lives a simple life: cooking for his customers, listening to his old radio, and enjoying plays in the evenings. He secretly admires a woman he sees every day on a bus. His peaceful life changes when Vijay (Vinay UJ), a murder suspect who is injured and running from the law, seeks safety in his restaurant. Subbanna, feeling sorry for him, hides Vijay. He doesn't know this choice will cause a lot of trouble. Meanwhile, Mallikarjun (Gopalkrishna Deshpande), a dedicated police sub-inspector, urgently wants to catch the escaped suspect. He hopes this will help him get transferred to be with his sick wife. As Mallikarjun investigates, he starts to find Subbanna's behaviour is strange. The restaurant, a busy place for local people, becomes the centre of a tense mystery. Odd things happen, and Subbanna finds himself caught in a tangle of lies and danger. Someone is burning dead bodies in the dosa oven of the restaurant. Who is behind these murders? What has Subanna have to do with these? How does Mallikarjun reveal the truth? To know the answers, watch Shakhahaari. It is a great mystery thriller to enjoy with family.
