In a remote Telangana village, back in the 1970s, Pedda Gangadhar (Yuva Chandra Krishna), a shepherd, has a dream: he wants to educate his daughter, Saraswati (Thanasvi Chowdary). This is a big challenge because of the harsh caste system that oppresses them. The village is full of superstition and worships a goddess named Balamma Thalli. Every 12 years, they offer a sacred sheep, Pottel, as a sacrifice. Gangadhar is given the job of guarding Pottel after his father, Mallanna, is murdered. He faces the anger of the cruel village chief, Patel, who has banned education for poor people to keep control. Gangadhar's wife, Bujjamma (Ananya Nagalla), supports his defiance. But when Pottel disappears, Patel threatens to sacrifice Saraswati at the Jatara festival. Forced to run away with his daughter to escape Patel’s brutality, Gangadhar undergoes a spiritual change. He returns to challenge the village’s old traditions. His fight exposes how Patel manipulates rituals and also reveals a mysterious disease affecting the village. In the end, does Gangadhar realize his wish to educate his daughter? What is it about the mysterious disease that spreads in the village? Does the future of the village change? To know the answers, watch Pottel. Overall, the film is a good watch with a new plot and a social message.
