Nipah Virus is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Malayalam movie of the same name. In Kozhikode, Kerala, in 2018, a mysterious illness strikes. It starts with Zachariah (Soubin Shahir). He dies from fever, cough, and vomiting at the Government Medical College. Nurse Akhila, who cared for him, soon falls ill with similar symptoms. This causes panic in the town. Dr. Suresh Rajan (Kunchacko Boban) teams up with Dr. Salim (Indrajith Sukumaran) to investigate. Tests confirm Nipah, a deadly bat-borne virus that has no cure. Health Minister C.K. Prameela (Revathy) and District Collector Paul V. Abraham (Tovino Thomas) lead containment efforts. They enforce strict quarantine and trace contacts. Akhila, fighting for her life, writes a moving letter to her husband before her death. Zachariah’s sister Suhana and father Razak uncover the virus’s source: bat-contaminated well water. As cases grow, the team battles human-to-human transmission. Some volunteers and patients show bravery in the middle of fear and panic. The story captures Kozhikode’s unity, with doctors, nurses, and locals risking everything. Flashbacks reveal personal losses, like Suresh’s own struggles. After a lot of hard work, Prameela declares the city Nipah-free. She honours those who died due to the illness. Nipah Virus is an informative thriller you can enjoy watching with your family.
