The movie Naadu starts with villagers standing in the mountains with grim faces. A girl walks away, and an old man follows her. She kills herself. Later, we learn why everyone was sad. The village has a hospital. But doctors don't stay; they leave. People die because they have no doctor. The villagers wanted the girl to be their doctor. When she failed, they felt like they had lost everything. The movie asks a simple question. Can they make the new doctor stay? Mahima Nambiar plays Shobana, the new doctor. She is from the city. The village is very different for her. The villagers are friendly people. They try to make her like the village. They want her to stay. They do funny things to make her happy. Maari (Tharshan) is a man who helps everyone. He is the deceased girl's brother. He wants to make Shobana stay. Naadu is a simple movie. It is naive. The story is simple. The film shows the problems of small villages. They need doctors and medical facilities. It shows how people try to help each other. The director has made an honest attempt to show the good hearts of the villagers. Mahima Nambiar and Tharshan pull off a great show. The other actors in the film are Singampuli, Aruldoss, and RS Shivaji. All the actors have contributed well to the story. Overall, Naadu is a decent social drama that can be watched with family.
