Moothon is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Malayalam film of the same name. Mulla (Nivin Pauly) is a tough but kind-hearted goon in Mumbai’s underworld. He lives a lonely life running errands for a criminal named Salim (Dileep). As a young boy in Lakshadweep, Mulla, then called Akbar, fled his island searching for his older brother, Moothon, after their mother died and their father turned abusive. Years later, a 14-year-old boy, Bhai (Sanjana Dipu), escapes Lakshadweep to find Akbar, believing he is Moothon. Bhai lands in Mumbai’s streets, facing danger from traffickers and local rowdies. Mulla rescues Bhai, unaware of their connection. He grows protective of Bhai, seeing his younger self in the boy. Meanwhile, Mulla’s secret love for Ameer (Roshan Mathew), a gentle artist, clashes with his rough life. It's because Salim’s gang disapproves of this relationship. Bhai’s search leads to painful truths about Moothon’s fate, tied to Moosa’s cruelty and a tragic night by the sea. As Mulla and Bhai bond, flashbacks reveal Akbar’s lost innocence and love for Ameer, which is unexpressed due to his past betrayals. When Salim threatens Bhai, Mulla fights back, risking everything. The story ends with a heartbreaking choice, showing Mulla’s struggle for redemption and Bhai’s hope for family, blending love, loss, and survival in a harsh world. Overall, Moothon is a good film to watch with your family.
