Mister Pellam begins with a clash created by Narada between Vishnu and Lakshmi over the superiority of men and women. The story then shifts to Earth, where Balaji, a bank employee, and Jhansi, a homemaker with two kids, live happily. Balaji gets promoted to head cashier, and he neglects Jhansi's efforts. Jhansi is upset with Balaji’s attitude, and conflict starts between them. After celebrating his promotion, Balaji was suspended and accused of stealing one lakh from his manager. Balaji tried to find another job, but because of their bad reputation, he couldn’t find any, so Jhansi decided to work, though Balaji was against it. She joined her classmate's food joint named Annapurna Food; impressed by his idea, she immediately offered to be a vice president with a salary of ten thousand per month. But she lies to her husband about the wage to avoid upsetting her. Looking at the scenario, Balaji challenges Jhansi to manage the household, thinking it is easy to operate. But he couldn’t simultaneously manage his children, cooking, and other household chores. Balaji starts neglecting work due to various incidents at home. Gopala Krishna, on Krishna Ashtami, Invites the family to his farmhouse; Balaji loses his temper and blames Jhansi for his present situation. These events lead to growing egos between the couple. Nothing at home affected Jhansi’s work, so she kept excelling and took loans to clear all her financial troubles. Their children were disturbed by their parents' quarrels and ran away from the house.
