Mathimaran is about a man who faces unfair treatment because he is short-statured. It shows the problems he faces in society. Mathi and Nedumaran are twin brothers, but Nedumaran is a dwarf, so he has special difficulties. They go to school together, but when they get to college, they go to different institutions. Something shocking happens: Mathi runs away with his college teacher. Because of this, his parents kill themselves. Nedumaran is determined to find his brother. He goes to Chennai and finds out that there have been several murders. Nedumaran and his friend Prabavathy decide to solve the mystery. They find out that the killer is Anuman, who owns a sofa company and is married to Mathi. Nedumaran works with the police to catch Anuman, and Anuman dies while in police custody. Then, Nedumaran tells Mathi the truth about her husband. The next day, Mathi takes revenge by poisoning his food. Even though she does this, the police don't arrest her. Mathi goes back to their village and becomes a teacher. Nedumaran takes his father's old job as a postman. The movie ends with a sad but important message: making fun of people because of how their body looks is a cruel thing in society. This is shown by how Nedumaran was constantly made fun of for being short throughout the movie. Overall, Mathimaran is a decent movie to watch with family.
