Laandhar takes place in one night. Aravind (Vidaarth), a fearless cop, stops a liquor racket and goes home to his wife Jaanu (Swetha Dorothy), who fears being alone. Their night is interrupted by news of an attack by a raincoated person. The police try to catch him, but they are beaten up. Nakul (Vibin) and Manju (Sahana), another couple, have their own problems. Manju sees a medical report that triggers a past trauma. Who is this raincoated figure? Is he connected to the couple? The movie asks "Why?" a lot. Everyone on the street acts like a criminal. The raincoated man limps around openly, but the police can't catch him easily. They try to fight him directly, even though he's dangerous, and they get beaten up. Aravind is a typical cop. Jaanu faints when the power goes out and gives up easily when she can't find her phone. Manju has a borderline personality disorder. Laandhar is a simple, fun movie. The later part of the movie is a car chase with typical suspense. Vidaarth looks confident. Sahana gets a lot of screen time and does her part well. The other actors have minor roles and have done a decent job. Laandhar is a decent thriller. It provides some entertainment with its simple approach.
