



Kavundampalayam is a movie about Palanichamy (Ranjith), a respected man in a village. He belongs to an upper caste. He has a daughter, Mangani. Mangani falls in love with Veera, a lower-caste college student. Palanichamy is deeply affected by his daughter's act. He is depressed because he thinks Veera cannot take care of his daughter well, and he will definitely use her to his benefit and abandon her. In one instance, Palanichamy even tries to commit suicide, but the villagers save him. A determined Palanichamy decides to find his daughter and Veera and save his daughter before something happens between them. He also finds out that Mangani gets involved with a group that tricks young girls. There is also a subplot where Palanichamy woos a woman in his village.
